Ambassador of Armenia delivered a speech at the conference held at the European Parliament on the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno- Karabakh and Armenian hostages

On November 5, 2024 the conference entitled "COP29 in Baku: greenwashing an ethnic cleansing" was held under the auspices of the Member of the European Parliament Loucas Fourlas (EPP), which was co-organized by the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy in Brussels.

Speakers of the conference were Simon Papuashvili, Programmme Director of Eastern Europe and South Caucasus at IPHR, international lawyer Catalina De La Sota, journalist from Nagorno-Karabakh Siranush Sargsyan and Davit Vardanyan, son of Ruben Vardanyan.

Ambassador Tigran Balayan delivered opening remarks and highly appreciated the consistent efforts of the European Parliament to release Armenian hostages held illegally in Azerbaijan, and stressed that the Armenian Government is working non-stop to achieve the release of their compatriots.

In this context, he emphasized the principled position and practical steps of the partner countries toward the final settlement of this issue.
